What is Rotary?
The Rotary Club of Mukono was chartered in 1989 and has served the districts in the Greater Jinja Road Corridor since then. Mukono District has a population of around 932,672 people as of the 2024 population census, with 46% between the ages of 0-17, 49% between 18 and 59, and 5% senior citizens. Due to the expected urban-rural migration, this population is expected to grow.
To meet the growing population, the Rotary Club of Mukono created other clubs: Rotary Club of Mukono Central, Lugazi Central, Mukono Namilyango, and Kayunga. It also includes Rotaract Clubs, Mukono, Uganda Christian University, St. Francis School of Health Sciences, and is currently in the process of chartering the Rotaract Club of Seeta University. Interact clubs include Seeta High School – Mukono, Seeta High School, St. Joseph’s Naggalama, Mukono Bishops Senior Secondary School, and many more
