The Basic Education and Literacy Enhancement Program (BELEP) is one of the seven areas of focus for Rotary International aimed at improving education and literacy levels worldwide through various initiatives and projects as a fundamental building block for a better future for individuals and communities.
Objectives and Focus Areas include: Access to education, teacher training and development to enhance the quality of education, literacy enhancement, community engagement, and global partnerships with governments, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), institutions, and other stakeholders.
During our District Governor, Geoffrey M. Kitakule’s official club visit, we visited and launched a BELEP program at Mukono Municipal Needs Education Nursery and Primary School.
